Is this YOU?!

We are not just one thing.

We are made of multiple facets that we can harness and live life fully.

We think we can be great with one thing. It’s so linear. We never thought we can excel in multiple ways but we actually can. Just harness  it.

When we’re  told to do something, just do it. For  things that scare us, actually, represent  amazing possibilities.

Is this YOU? To be  truthful, this is not fear, it is excitement misunderstood! That flurry of feeling in your gut that make you jump out of your seat. Then do it! This is the possibility! It can only happen if you take the first step, then whoa! That’s  it…the “whoa” that that gives us is access to much more of us…. because truly,  there is much more of us.

Yes, it is true that we need to:

-Dream big.

-Play a bigger game.

-Break down our goals into smaller steps.

Oh my gosh, it’s possible! That, what scares us,  could actually  happen.

Now, don’t be one of those people asking God: “please let me be a millionaire” everyday but don’t  actually buy a lottery ticket.

I am telling you that you are smart, not stupid. So, live your life now! You want to be who you want to be? Take the first step now. Not tomorrow, now! Then….breathe.

My Inspiration:

Where are they now episode about the cast of The Different World. The moment when Debbie Allen was asked what were her current projects. She referred to her multiple successful directorship TV shows while maintaining her first love, dancing. Wow! I was inspired about that I can be great in multiple ways because I am not described as just one talent but a multiple, creative individual and can be who I want to be in multiple ways….and be successful.

To live a “big life” is to live a life of purpose. Finding my purpose is my significance. To live it with impact not impression. The greatest tragedy in life is not death but life without purpose.

Well, thank you for taking the courage for us to say that. Awesome!

Dreaming big got me a long, long way and then I settled into life’s routines and dreamed smaller. After a major life shake-up, I’m ready to start dreaming big again.

Great post. As a woman, I feel I do lots of daily “to dos” but they do not help get me to my overall life goal. So, this year, my goal is to simplify all areas of my life to better help me stay on target. Love “Awake My Soul” Image. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Sabrina for sharing your insight.

For us women, when is “enough” enough?

My business partner in the All Women Retreat said that same thing: this year is a year of her overwhelming possibilities while being “loving” to oneself.

Goodluck to your empowering journey and awakening of your soul.

This is one of my favorite quotes on dreaming by Michelangelo:
“The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark”.

I think people have vague dreams about their wants and the result is the “dream” is so far away, up there somewhere unreachable. Saying, “I want to be rich”, isn’t specific? If you don’t know where you’re headed, how will know if you’ve arrived?

Thank you Pamela for sharing your wisdom. I’m sure Michaelangelo is the perfect example of: dream big, create big and be big. Wow! We can be like that too!

I love your example about how people dream of becoming a millionaire by winning the lottery but never by a ticket – SO true! There are so many reasons why people fail to follow through on their dreams, sure to some degree there’s fear of failure and for a few fear of success. But I think there’s another reason we don’t often consider and that’s if we go for our dream we may find out we’re not the person we thought we were.

It’s like the person who is passionate about telling “their” story, but they either just keep fine tuning every detail over and over in their mind and never start writing, or they keep writing but never finish because if they finish they may learn that nobody cares about this story that has come to define who they are and what they stand for. That’s far scarier than a simple fail.

You are right Marquita…it’s to make things happen….let ideas take into action. Our passion is way too good not to materialize, right!

I felt the same way when I first started Avant-garde. I thought about every detail, process, paperwork, etc to start a business…seems like wrapping my idea in a pretty little box with a golden bow without testing the concept and talking to people about it first. Lesson learned.

The bottom-line is: we can’t hoard great things…we need to spread the message…so we need to go out in the world!

I have to say the best advice, is to Dream big.
I have tried to attain great lofty goals, and have failed miserably most of the times. But that once time, that one instance where I achieved something great than I thought I was, makes up for all the failures in the past.

We think, we become….somewhere along that line with what you just said.

You made a great point about perceiving failure as part of our pathway to success. Thanks!

It’s all in our state of mind. Think small, you get small results. Dream big and DO big, and the results are greater. Positivity and belief in oneself goes a long way to success. Nice post.

Yes, the bigger the better! Well, the bottom-line, for me, is we need to dream bigger because we are so capable AND just simply take the steps in moving into action. And yes, it is possible and real.

Mahal, one of my all-time favourite sayings comes from the great Henry Ford –
‘Whether you think you can, or think you can’t… either way, you’re right’.
Applied to anything that confronts me in life, it’s an immovable challenge.
